Verdict

Sage Advice easily outpointed last month’s Catterick winner Tinnahalla on debut at Kempton and is better off at the weights. He’s been beaten twice since but is 10lb better off for a length-and-a-half defeat by Cabot Cliffs last time at Warwick and could go well at a price. Joseph O’Brien saddled the winner of this in 2019 and runs both Naas winner Druid’s Altar and the less-exposed Busselton. Zoffanien wasn’t winning out of turn at Naas but needs to overturn earlier running at the same track with Coltor on worse terms. Dermot Weld’s charge is definitely one for the shortlist in this and Saint Sam finished ahead of Busselton and Youmdor in a Grade 2 at Leopardstown last time. From the yard that has won this in two of the last three years, Punchestown winner RIVIERE D’ETEL is back among his own age group having just failed to cope with a couple of older rivals under a penalty at Navan. He still has plenty of scope and can get the better of Finale Hurdle second and third Nassalam and Houx Gris.
