Verdict
PADDLEYOUROWNCANOE made a pleasing impression on his first run for this yard at Southwell and gets the nod to beat Earth Planet and Dragon Eye. Although he has a bit to find on the ratings, it was hard not to be impressed by the style of the selections' victory just three weeks ago. Having shown nothing when trained over in Ireland, this strapping chaser in the making is open to any sort of improvement and this test of stamina should suit. Earth Planet is still a Novice due to some funny ruling from last season and he commands respect on this reappearance run; his handicap mark looks stiff enough so this seems a handy alley to explore under just the one penalty. Dragon Eye unseated his rider when last seen in March and has a little to prove, however his previous run behind Galient looks solid enough. Ace Of Clubs has had nearly two years on the sidelines, so a bigger danger may be Ceasen Desist who comes across from Ireland for this modest enough prize but has some solid enough form to his name. A small field to kick things off and preference is for Paddleyourowncanoe.
