Cogry won this in 2017 and was second last year. He also won over slightly longer trip here in December off today’s mark so the Twiston-Davies’ stayer looks an obvious candidate. Dan Skelton runs three with Harry on top weight Cobra De Mai, who proved his stamina when beating Rocky’s Treasure here in April, but Get On The Yager is more attractively weighted if back to his best. Shantou Village was a co-favourite last year but only managed sixth. He’s failed to complete in any of three outings since but was in the process of running a good race at Listowel last month when he unseated his rider at the last and is potentially well treated. Irish raider Mindsmadeup looks a threat to all from near the foot of the weights and case could also be made for Back To The Thatch but CROSSPARK made a winning reappearance last season and improved again in the spring, winning the Eider at Newcastle and finishing second in the Scottish Grand National. He will benefit more than most if this turns into a slog.
