Verdict

Sykes and Theclockisticking were second and fourth respectively in this last year but neither make much appeal in this year’s renewal. Fitness may be an issue with Two Taffs and Potters Legend but GUNFLEET (NAP) was well backed on his reappearance at Stratford and was staying on in the closing stages. He still finished five lengths adrift of Neverbeen To Paris but is now better off at the weights and this longer trip is very much in his favour. Tobefair has been a grand servant to connections and is the only course winner in the line-up while Aye Right did well to beat an odds-on favourite over a trip too short on his return to action at Kelso. Captain Tommy also warrants a mention.
