Verdict

A small but competitive field goes to post for the first on the card and the principals look to be Ollie Magern, Satshoon and Americanconnection and we will take a chance on Satshoon. The gelding from the Paul Nicholls yard only got as far as the first on his last run.But prior to that he had been at the top of his game and off what still looks a fair mark he will be hard to beat with conditions in his favour. Ollie Magern rates the main danger he won well last time out when easily defeating Dantes Banker but that was in novice company and he will find this much harder under another penalty in what looks a more competitive affair. Americanconnection could also go well he won in game fashion last time out when landing a gamble but the step up in trip is not sure to suit so for that reason he is opposed. Of the remainder Parsons Pride was a fair second behind General Claremont last time and he has definite place claims but we are happy to stick with Satshoon.
