Verdict

Ralph Beckett won this last year with a short-priced favourite and Perrault will attract attention after a very encouraging debut over a mile at Newbury in October where he battled all the way to the line. Unfortunately the form hasn't worked out and though Jersey Jewel produced three strong performances over a mile last season, including on her debut here, she was soon done with when attempting to make all over this trip at Windsor last month. With none of the remainder showing much, that leaves us with the newcomer HEARTLESS, a close relative of the Irish Derby winner Treasure Beach and other middle-distance winners. A Ribblesdale entry suggests she's held in some regard and she must win this if she's to justify the ambitions.
