In depth

Verdict

SHOVEL IT ON is one of only two three-year-olds in this but can get the better of more senior rivals. David Evans’ gelding did better over 6f here last time in a visor. He’s 2lb higher today but the return to 7f won’t be a problem and Gabriele Maluna takes off 5lb. Air Of York has won twice already this year but he’s run here 12 times and is yet to get his head in front. Coachella was only beaten a head at Brighton after winning at Bath, where Tally’s Son was well beaten, and Wild Dancer improved to finish third at Lingfield off this mark and has her ground again.
