Verdict

SYKES (NAP) was caught right on the line when dead-heating with Optimistic Bias at Aintree. But, as that was a conditionals' race, he can race off the same mark here and can finish out in front on his own today on only his fifth start under Rules. The Eaglehaslanded is a similar type and looks the danger as he's won three out of four under Rules, including at Exeter last month, and has scope for further improvement. Dashaway and Mackerye End boasted useful form last season and could figure if fully wound-up with Princess Tara another who should win further races this term. Bold Conquest and Tea Time Fred are preferred to Altesse De Guye of those near the foot of the weights.
