In depth

Verdict

Great Crusader gets a narrow call here over Camdemnation, I'm For Waiting, Jim Jam Joey and Redde. The selection wins in his turn and, given that he is now back on a mark from which he has won - and that win came in a similar type of race - then he looks set to go well. Camdemnation will probably travel up from Sussex with the selection and this lightly-raced gelding could yet have better to come back at a trip he prefers. I'm For Waiting put up a good effort last time at Market Rasen and, just three pounds higher in the ratings now, should go well again, while Redde is back on the same mark now from which he won at this course in March 2002. Of the others, Gola Supreme is lightly raced and could have better to come after two disappointing efforts, while Jim Jam Joey has won from a six-pound higher mark than he races from today, although that was back in the year 2000. The road, then, leads us back to Great Crusader, although it could pay to keep an eye on the betting market.
