Verdict

For us, the ones to focus on are Callmecozmo, Blushing Bull, Here We Go, Hey Boy and Lord Olympia, with our vote going to Hey Boy. Looking at the principals. Callmecozmo beat Blushing Bull by two lengths over course and distance on March 24 but is now seven pounds worse off. That race seemed like a good bumper, as did the one in which Hey Boy finished second in at Ascot in March. He too should go well. Tony McCoy is riding Jonjo O'Neill's Here We Go, who is out of a dual hurdles winner, while Venetia Williams runs Lord Olympia, sixth in a Grade 2 bumper on his second start and placed second in his other two runs. There are some good stables represented in this bumper, including Jonjo O'Neill, who also runs Iris's Prince, Henrietta Knight's Valuso, who is out of a winning bumper and hurdles winner, Alan King's Mikado Melody, whose dam won 11 races, mainly at two miles, Paul Nicholls' second runner, the pointing winner, Spanish Dolphin, and Springfield Belle, whose trainer has been doing well in these races this season. Overall, though, in what looks like a very good bumper, we will side with Hey Boy, but as ever, keep a close eye on the betting.
