Verdict
The step up to six furlongs looks to be a natural progression for Godsend, who is fancied to cope with the challenges presented by Good Wee Girl and Geisha Lady, who have also caught the eye from what they have achieved to date. By way of contrast, both Glasson Lodge and General Nuisance have not looked to be the most straight forward of characters and now have something to prove - especially as this looks to be much the stiffest test that either has encountered so far. Good Wee Girl confirmed that she was going the right way when winning at Leicester just over a week ago; where she ran on well for John Egan, who keeps faith with her today. The 7lb penalty she picks up does not make life easy for her though and she may be one to have reservations about today. Geisha Lady was also doing her best work at the finish when she was second here a fortnight ago and looks to be going the right way. Nevertheless, an extra furlong will not go amiss with her and she may find one too nippy here, with Godsend being the prime candidate. The daughter of Royal Applause is a half-sister to several winners at or around this trip and has obviously inherited her share of ability. The form of her maiden win is working out quite well after the runner up scored on his next start, which bodes well for Godsend, who can carry the colours of the Queen to victory once more if all goes well today.
