In depth

Verdict

A market check is advised before this open-looking handicap as a few of these were well backed last time. Harry Hunt was one but never looked like winning at Stratford. Obistar is another but he unseated his rider at Newbury while Assirem looked to be in the handicapper's grip when only fourth at Towcester. Shear Rock proved one-paced when favourite at Market Rasen while He's The Daddy had no answer to Signed Request at Towcester and isn't the most resolute of performers. DASHAWAY (NAP) could be called the winner a long from home over this track and trip last month. A 12lb hike in the weights hasn't done him any favours but the second went close at Newton Abbot on Saturday so he should be given the chance to show he is worthy of his new mark.
