In depth
Verdict
Mokaraba might provide the answer to the second division of the maiden, with Manorshield Minx and Oasis Way rated as her biggest dangers. The John Dunlop-trained Mokaraba has shown promise in each start to date, including at Nottingham last time, a race from which the first and second have since won. That form looks reasonably solid and she looks set to run a big race. The penny dropped late on with Manorshield Minx at Newbury on her debut but she then stayed on in what, overall, looked to be a fair maiden, with the winner, Swan Nebula, also landing a valuable nursery at Doncaster yesterday. Normal improvement alone over this two-furlong longer trip should get her into the action. Oasis Way is also entitled to respect having shown promise on her Folkestone debut and She's My Outsider has a similar profile, having stepped up on her debut run at Kempton to finish third at the same track three weeks later. These could prove to be the principals, with the best of them possibly proving to be Mokabara.
