In depth
Verdict
Fellow Ship has a very good chance based on official ratings and gets the vote, his biggest dangers possibly being Nominate and Muqtadi, while Julian Ronjoyles is capable of springing a surprise. The selection is temperamental but won at Folkestone in April, a repetition of which would see him go close. Nominate cost 110,000 guineas as a yearling but has not lived up to that task, although he often pulls in his races. Muqtadi comes here on the back of a Thirsk selling win five days ago and should go well again. Julian Ronjoyles has shown some promise and if the first-time blinkers work, he could spring a surprise. Queen Excalibur and Hill Magic are also blinkered for the first time, while Moneybags is now fitted with sheepskin cheekpieces. Pageant and Visulize are likely to have their supporters but, in a modest event, we'll give Fellow Ship another chance.
