Verdict

The fact that Redemption holds leading claims at the age of fourteen says it all but he could find that Captain Becket and CELTICELLO have too much firepower. Stamina is a slight issue for David Evans' charge but his level of consistency ensures that he rates highly on any short-list for this contest. It was disappointing that he couldn't score at Stratford after looking all over the winner but he's given another chance. Alan King doesn't run many in this grade and Quizzene is sure to have his supporters as a result but he's shown little over obstacles this term and is worth taking on again. Redemption found the return to handicap company against him but was in fine form at this level last summer and has to be rated a major player. Captain Becket has faced stiff enough tasks the last twice but the pick of his form puts him in the picture in this company whilst Deep Reflection has run some sound races in his time and is no forlorn hope. Celticello has shown more of late though and is consequently preferred.
