In depth

Verdict

BONADVENTURE may be able to go one better than on debut but it will be interesting to see what the market makes of the likes of Shacklesborough and Rappel D'Estruval. Bonadventure finished one place in front of Cavingdon who contests the first division so that could provide a pointer to his chances. Either way, it was a promising introduction that looked as though it would do him good. Mail De Bievre had Philadephus behind when winning a junior bumper at Exeter but could only muster the one pace at Doncaster on faster ground over a longer trip; the Dartnall runner could finish closer this time around. Winning pointer Shacklesborough is an obvious candidate on his Rules bow whilst support for Rappel D'Estruval - a half-brother to the talented Jazz D'Estruval - would be worth noting but Bonadventure sets the standard.
