Verdict
POLLY’S GOLD probably ran her best race so far at Goodwood last month. On breeding, the extra furlong here shouldn’t be a problem and Richard Hughes’ filly can belatedly open her account with few of the newcomers having stand-out credentials on pedigree. The possible exceptions are Sir Mark Prescott’s Dark Angel colt Grey Spirit, who cost 65,000gns and is the first foal of a Montjeu mare, and Gunnar Julius. The latter cost 200,000 euros as a yearling so will be expected to pay his way.
