    Verdict

Marmaida, Tom Tower and Just Dust form the shortlist for this opener and the vote is given to Marmaida. The selection made a really pleasing racecourse debut when she scored at Yarmouth beating Straight Face. She should relish this fast ground and she should also benefit from the experience of that debut effort. Tom Tower rates the main danger as this colt from the Mick Channon yard got off the mark on this track last time when beating Montemayorprincess. However, that was on soft ground and he is stepped up in trip today. The fact that his previous two efforts were disappointing would also temper confidence. Just Dust did well to beat Granny Peel last time and as that form was franked on Wednesday he would have to enter calculations here. Grand Prix won well last time at Sandown and is another to consider, but for the winner we are happy to return to Marmaida.
