Niobe¿s Way, Figaro¿s Quest and Beauchamp Trump are the three for the shortlist here and preference is for the first named. Figaro¿s Quest ran well over a mile and a half last time but the course he took in the end was more like a mile and three quarters as he found the turns at Folkestone too sharp and perpetually ran wide. Consequently he may not find this step up in trip quite as tough as you may imagine. Beauchamp Trump is lightly raced and open to further improvement. He was fourth in a similar contest at Redcar and can go well at a nice price. Niobe¿s Way is coming into the race on the back of his best run to date on the Polytrack at Lingfield, finishing a close second. If he can translate that improved form to the turf he will take some beating but it is a big if. However, the others only possess moderate form and a chance is taken that Niobe¿s Way can lead them home.
