Verdict

Private Business is taken to bounce back to victory, with Zennerman and Tent seen as the main dangers. Barry Hills loves to have winners at Chester, and his two-horse raid on the Roodeye can get off to a flyer with Private Business who created a favourable impression when getting up to beat a previous winner on his Goodwood debut. Stepped up to seven furlongs for his next engagement in the Group 3 Weatherbys Superlative Stakes at Newmarket, the son of Cozzene overcame a slow start to quickly get into contention before before finishing a creditable fifth behind Horatio Nelson. Both of those efforts came on rain-softened ground, and he promises to be a better horse on faster going and over a longer trip. From his number two draw, he should prove too good for Zennerman who has won two run-of-the-mill events so far and is pretty much well-exposed. Tent was thought good enough to contest the Coventry Stakes in which he was down the field, but failed to impress at Lingfield next time and is also beatable. All in all, Private Business has been found a perfect opportunity to gain a second career success.
