      Verdict

MAGIC CIRCLE carries a penalty for winning over today's trip at Doncaster on his reappearance. But he beat the re-opposing Major Mac well enough in the soft ground and can go in again with further progress on the cards. The latter may well prove the main danger on better terms given Retro Valley scored on fast going at Bath last time and was due to run at Redcar yesterday. Highland Blaze was placed at Bath on his latest start but was beaten 12 lengths and Duke Street also failed to threaten when third at Southwell last time. Seraffimo went close at Ayr on his penultimate outing start but was never going at Beverley last week.
