In depth

Verdict

An interesting opener featuring several nicely-bred juveniles. Shanghai Glory ran well behind a speedy type on his debut at Windsor and looks sure to appreciate the extra furlong. City Of Stars didn't handle Chester's turns and may yet come good but this could go to one of the newcomers. Hyaline, Majdool, Papa Luigi and Roaring Forties all represent powerful yards who are more than capable of readying one at home but we like the look of COGENT. A son of Paco Boy, his dam has produced winners with her first three offspring and, while he'll be a miler in time, Ed Dunlop's colt could have the pace for this.
