Verdict
The most competitive race on the card with El Pedro just getting the vote ahead of Sir Alfred and Siena Star. El Pedro is plenty exposed but this is a weak contest and a reproduction of his recent third to Willoughby's Boy at the track should suffice in the nightcap. Sir Alfred is clearly the fly in the ointment. His stable are in rude health at the moment and this dual-purpose performer finished second at Bath on his last visit to the racecourse. A 1lb rise doesn't look harsh for that performance and he could go close again tonight. Paul Cole's Siena Star returns for from a few months' absence. A fair performer on the Polytrack at Lingfield, he is best watched this evening off top-weight. Sebring should have come on for a reappearance bow and the market should be consulted for clues. Lazzaz is consistent in lowly grades and could be capable of forcing a place. In a difficult race, we will stick with track form and nominate El Pedro as our selection.
