        Verdict

        Experience will undoubtedly play a major part here, and with that in mind, Robocop can take care of Happy Crusader and Chinsola, with Matt Blanc best of the newcomers. Robocop, who runs in the Lochsong colours of Jeff Smith, improved a good deal for his Salisbury debut when just touched off at Bath next time. Even though only fourth at Windsor last time, there was a lot to like about his attitude, and although the son of Robellino will be better when put up in trip, he should hold too many guns for his seven rivals here. Richard Hannon saddles both Chinsola and Matt Blanc, the latter holding entries in the Goffs Challenge at The Curragh and in Newbury's Weatherbys Super Sprint, so is obviously a speedy sort at home. His stablemate has had the benefit of a run when fourth at Bath, albeit last of four after a tardy start. He too is entered at Newbury and can only improve. Happy Crusader may prove to be a bigger threat to the selection though after his promising debut third to Kheleyf at York. Although David Loder's charge was surprisingly beaten at Royal Ascot, that is still top class form and he should be involved in the finish, the step up in trip expected to help. As stated earlier though, Robocop is the one to be on this time.
