In depth

Verdict

Star Galaxy has been in great form for Rhys Flint but he has something to prove over this trip off his new mark and so narrow preference is for INDIANA GOLD ahead of Massini Sunset. The selection wasn't disgraced behind King Brex at Sandown last time out in a better race than this one. The handicapper has dropped him a pound in the weights for that and with the ground not likely to be too much of a worry he should run well. Course and distance winner Massini Sunset is consistent and has gone well for this jockey before; his mark doesn't budge much though and as a result he doesn't look that well handicapped. Star Galaxy is the form horse in the race, having lost little caste in defeat at Plumpton earlier in the month. He looks a reformed character and will handle the ground, however his mark looks right at the upper limits of his ability. All Sonsilver completes the line-up and should appreciate the shorter trip today. He has a course win to his name but he faces a hard task today racing from 8lbs out of the weights. Interesting stuff despite the small turnout, but preference is for Indiana Gold.
