    Verdict

Another hugely competitive handicap to solve here and the veteran Royal Storm is taken to land it for the father-and-son team of Rod and James Millman. Formerly a high class handicapper, the selection made his seasonal debut at Bath earlier this month where he set out to make all the running but that effort was foiled. Down 2lb for that, he is an each way selection in a wide open heat. Councellor races here under a 6lb penalty after a narrow victory at Goodwood last week. He was allowed dominate the race from the front which is unlikely to happen although he could still be well-handicapped on his best form. Im Ova Ere Dad was a course and distance winner last summer and the race is likely to be run to suit although he will need luck in running. Climate bids for the hat-trick after two victories at Wolverhampton but is not near effective on turf as around the all-weather circuits. Magroom is another on for the shortlist but Royal Storm is a speculative selection.
