        Verdict

        Golden Platitude failed to build on a promising debut effort when well held at Goodwood earlier this month on his second start and Walter Swinburn's gelding may be best watched here with a better bet looking to be Atraas, who gets the vote ahead of First Princess. The last mentioned is becoming rather exposed but did run back up to a reasonable level of form when chasing home Cavort at Wolverhampton recently and has solid place claims at least. Spinal Tap disappointed last time having shown signs of ability on his debut, while Halkerston may have improved from two to three and represents the yard of Clive Cox that has been in good form this term. Luca Cumani's Arabiyah may need more time and a safer bet looks to be Marcus Tregoning's Atraas who showed fair form on each of his two starts as a juvenile and a reproduction of either run may suffice on his first start at three.
