In depth

Verdict

What A Friend, Master Overseer and Carruthers are the three to consider here, with the vote going to David Pipe's winning debutant Master Overseer. A son of the useful Flat stayer Kayf Tara, Carruthers showed distinct promise on his bumper debut, leading for some way before being run out of it in the closing stages. He will come on for the experience and looks a leading player here. Master Overseer is by Old Vic and justified favouritism when coming right away from his field in a Fontwell bumper. That was back in March but he shouldnt lack for fitness. What A Friend was not fancied in the market when landing a Newton Abbot bumper on fast ground in May. He may be sharper for the run. Master Overseer can lord it over his rivals here.
