Verdict

Unless the Nigel Twiston-Davies-trained newcomer Bob The Builder proves to be out of the ordinary this should go to Rollo, who looks to have been found a suitable opportunity and is preferred to Jonjo O'Neill's pair Lissnabrucka and Roman Consul. The last mentioned was pulled up on his hurdling debut at Haydock but this is a weaker race and he is probably better than he showed that day. Stablemate Lissnabrucka was also pulled up in that same Haydock race but had earlier shown promise and Towcester and has to be respected. Pat Murphy's Croghan Loch and Tom George's point-to-point recruit Idle Talk both warrant respect on their hurdling debuts but the vote goes to Rollo. The Philip Hobbs-trained gelding has shown promise in bumpers and in two starts over hurdles, including on a soft surface, and in a poor race is taken to loose his maiden tag.
