In depth
Verdict
A typically-open Chester sprint. There are no opportunities at York today for COPPER KNIGHT so he has rocked up here instead. Tim Easterby’s evergreen eight-year-old showed there are further races to be won with him when close up in a valuable handicap at Musselburgh last week and he holds several of these on last year’s form which included a victory off a higher mark at Doncaster in the autumn. Stablemate Count D'orsay also has claims and Paul Midgley is another trainer who is double-handed with the Catterick 1-2 Militia and Glory Fighter. Lord Riddiford has had wind surgery and is on a lenient mark while Gabrial The Devil is a standing dish here, though may just need this.
