In depth

Verdict

In the opener, Vanderlin gets the call ahead of Prince Of Light and Mac Love. Prince Of Light put in an improved effort at Windsor last time when second to Librettist, and he looks set to play a part here from his in-from yard. However, Vanderlin likes it here and showed that he retains all of his ability with a good Group 1 fifth at Sha Tin in May. With his stable in form, he could prove best today. Mac Love comes here in good heart - he was only just beaten in the Group 3 Criterion Stakes at Newmarket last time, and is afforded plenty of respect. Beckermet's Group 3 Chipchase second two runs ago affords him some respect, and he is stepping up in trip today, but Will He Wish has something to find on these terms. All of which returns us to the selection, which is Vanderlin.
