Opus Maximus is lurking on a fair mark despite heading the weights however ALDERMOOR is a course winner and with a solid Redcar run last time to his name he is preferred to My Gacho in another tricky handicap. Stuart Williams' gelding is back on his last winning mark and has shaped in his last two starts as if he's ready to win again. Quick ground suits and a bold bid is expected. Opus Maximus is only 2lbs higher than when a winner at Ffos Las in May, Fathsta ran well here in May and then followed that up with a solid Haydock third, whilst My Gacho is a course and distance winner but his recent efforts have been just average where he seems to have raced lazily. Mr Macattack wasn't beaten too far here in May off a 5lb lower mark (held by Fathsta on that running), Bel Cantor is on a nice mark, whilst course winner Lucky Dan continues to hold his form well whilst looking too high in the weights. Imprimis Tagula won for Natasha Eaton two runs ago and the partnership is resumed, however with Rio Cobolo out of form and Bahamian Lad better over six furlongs, we are happy to side with Aldermoor as the selection.
