Verdict
WIND STAR can take advantage of this drop in grade and is the form pick to land this claimer ahead of Gross Prophet and Ahlawy. The selection gained back to back victories at Newcastle and Beverley. He was well placed by his trainer to win those races and connections have once again picked a race that he is more than capable of winning. They have put him in with a realistic claiming price meaning he is well weighted and if at his best he will be difficult to beat. Gross Prophet won in this grade at Chepstow last month. He has run well in defeat in his last couple of races and is a force to be reckoned with in these types of races. His poor draw is a concern though and he will do well to overcome that disadvantage. Ahlawy has won four from his last six but he did run disappointingly at Kempton after a short break and it remains to be seen whether or not his winning spree is over. Wind Star is the form horse in the race and is the percentage call.
