A competitive opener and it might be worth taking a chance on MR WOLF, who is preferred to the likes of Supermassive Muse and Bo McGinty. The selection is well drawn for one that likes to trailblaze and if he can get to the front then he could be difficult to catch. The slight worry is that he has a poor strike-rate but he has gone close several times this season and he has his optimum ground conditions today. Supermassive Muse is another that has a good draw and Ed McMahon's 3-year-old should be suited by the drop back to this trip. If there is any rain then that would work in his favour as he does like a bit of juice in the ground. Bo McGinty has got course and distance winning form and that is a big plus at this venue. He has been a bit disappointing of late but it would be no surprise to see him put in an improved effort today, and he could be a good each-way bet. Methaaly will struggle to win from stall 11, while Woodcote will need luck to get involved in the finish as he is drawn in the car park. A tricky start to proceedings and the vote is given to Mr Wolf.
