A tricky start to the day's proceedings with the class act in the race, Barshiba, possessing a modest strike rate. Rosaleen may be able to complete a course and distance Listed double and repel the challenges of Shabiba and the remainder. Barshiba has something in hand on official ratings and has the form to win this but her record of only one win on turf is offputting. In The Light and Que Piensa Cat move down and up in trip respectively and have a little to prove and jockey bookings suggest that the Lindelaan, blinkered for the first time, is the Stoute first string but she will need to find some improvement to win this. Selinka was one place in front of In The Light at Salisbury but is better suited by this trip and any rain will be in her favour. Ada River has been off the track for some time and has to prove herself at this level but she held some big entries earlier in the year and is worth a look. Raymi Coya has to put a poor run behind her, Eva's Request has a bit to find as does Ghaidaa who has been rejected by Richard Hills. He partners Shabiba who was just under 3 lengths behind the selection in June. She had no excuse that day but ran well again when third behind Visit at Goodwood and has as good a chance as any in this field. We're going to take Brian Meehan's runner to prevail though as that success was earned on merit despite the slow pace; she could be better drawn but should still be able to hold a decent early position and ROSALEEN may be able to come home in front again.
