Verdict

TWIST BOOKIE may be able to gain his first success on the level in four years this afternoon with Western Roots an obvious danger and Roodolph another that could go well. Shaun Lycett's charge has failed to win on the level since arriving from Germany but he has won four races under National Hunt Rules and has twice finished second on the Flat in the last twelve months. That includes his latest run at Warwick in June in an amateur riders' handicap over a mile and a half and he appears to have sound claims racing from the same mark. Western Roots has enjoyed his best ever season with four successes coming his way. The handicapper has reacted accordingly but he continues in good heart and seems sure to be involved in the finish. Eve Johnson-Houghton provided the winner of last year's renewal and Roodolph represents her here. He had been fairly consistent prior to his latest run which may have come too soon. He should be in the shake-up if ready to do himself justice but we're going to award our vote to Twist Bookie.
