Verdict
Mark Johnston holds a strong hand in this staying handicap supplying both Double Honour and Scott's View. The latter controversially missed out on a chance to run in the Ebor but the three-year-old faces no easy task here off his new mark and slight preference of the Johnston two is for the topweight. Although not seen at his best this season it is probably too soon to be writing off the son of Highest Honor. However, a draw in stall five is hardly a help for a horse who likes to race up with the pace and we prefer to look elsewhere. Mesmeric would have claims if fit for his reappearance if able to reproduce the sort of form that he showed last term, while Sir Michael Stoute's Supremacy is open to more improvement than most. The TEAMtalk vote though goes to another three-year-old, John Dunlop's Robe Chinoise. The daughter of Robellino has been crying out for this trip, is well berthed in stall one and has a 7lb pull for four lengths with Scott's View on running at Goodwood earlier in the month.
