In depth

Verdict

The veteran Buck Breeze is in fine form and was still in touch when unshipping his rider at Gowran last time. He likes to be up with the pace and the quick ground should enable him to give a good account. Pretty Happy is a real track specialist and both career victories, plus one disqualification, have been here. However, he appears better with some give in the ground and could do with plenty of rain. DOUX DOUCE had shown promise behind Golan Guy last May before running poorly in softer ground at Perth. He looks on a fair mark and conditions should be in his favour so he gets the vote. It's two years since Carlowsantana won a race but the going should be in his favour while Mount Welcome, though inconsistent, is a threat as he would have won over the C&D in February but for a last-flight fall.
