In depth

Verdict

Jack Holiday failed to take advantage of a much lower hurdles mark at Roscommon on Tuesday and is much better over fences. Princely Conn, who is lurking at the bottom of this handicap, has been here twice and won both, one over hurdles, while Whatsinthecorner has also won over timber around here. The latter is generally a consistent performer at this level over fences and warmed up with a good run over hurdles at the Punchestown Festival. CIANKYLE (NAP) was in excellent form last autumn and made a very encouraging reappearance at Ballinrobe behind the in-form Optical Confusion with the remainder well beaten so looks the one to beat. Dual hurdles winner Silver Star has only raced twice over fences and has a big weight.
