In depth

Verdict

MISSISSIPPI RIVER ran the useful Rebel Fitz close at Clonmel last month and was made favourite at Punchestown a couple of weeks ago only for a blunder early in the race to unsettle him. He can get back on track here and should take care of Prince Chaparral, who finished in front of him last time. Mickelson makes his debut over timber and is bred for the job. His bumper form entitles him to the greatest respect and he must be kept on the right side. Only Heather, who showed plenty of potential in both starts over hurdles, may need this after a long break.
