In depth

Verdict

Martin Scruff had looked very progressive in the spring but was never in the hunt on his reappearance at Listowel last month and could need another run to put him straight. Blackwell Synergy was having only his fourth start when runner-up to Bundle Of Fun at Listowel and further progress gives him an obvious chance. DATOKEPE had no answer to Royal Reveille at Navan but that was hardly a disgrace as the winner has since sluiced home in a Grade 3 at Limerick. Dessie Hughes' charge should be good enough for this though there are dangers at the bottom of the weights. Irish Poli ran very well on this type of ground at Tramore last time while Your Busy, who has been chasing, reverts to hurdles on a 26lb lower mark and must be a threat. A Hit Is A Hit, who won over 2m on the Flat last month, was staying on over 2m4f at Punchestown last time and will make a bold bid to lose his maiden tag over timber.
