In depth

Verdict

Daring Article had looked a potentially useful hurdler when beating Felix Yonger over 2m4f here in November but he's run poorly on his last two starts. Beau Michael has reverted to hurdling after becoming disappointing over fences and he's probably on a fair mark if anywhere near his best. Betterthanalright is progressing nicely but a massive 14lb rise for his victory in a Thurles handicap may just be enough to prevent a hat-trick. Connections of SHEER GENIUS are probably pleased with the handicapper's reaction to his maiden success at Leopardstown and he looks well enough treated. He's handed the vote as this longer trip should bring about further improvement. Novarov is a progressive type but has been climbing the weights, while Mini Vic and Undone have much more to do after winning maidens.
