Maturus Ardor, a very good third to Bobby John here in March, was strongly supported at Limerick on Sunday but fell at the fourth and punters will be hoping to gain compensation. Diamond Shower had a run on the Flat here last month to put him straight but he's 15lb higher than when scoring over 2m2f on the track in August. Van Wyck has been finding 2m4f on ground with give beyond him and the quicker going and shorter trip should bring out the best in him but this can go to UNCLE TAFFY, lurking at the foot of this handicap despite running easily his best race over timber at Down Royal earlier this month on the fast ground he likes.
