Verdict

UK raiders have won 12 of the last 17 and have a very strong entry this year including Glass Slippers, who won the race last season before just failing to retain her Prix de L’Abbaye crown at Longchamp then winning the Breeders’ Cup Turf Sprint. She looked as good as ever on her reappearance at Goodwood and is sure to take the world of beating. However, compatriot WINTER POWER showed blistering pace to land the Nunthorpe at York, form which could hardly have been better advertised when runner-up Emaraaty Ana then won the Group 1 Betfred Sprint at Haydock, and she looks the one to beat. Dragon Symbol couldn’t get close to the selection at York but was staying on and today's stiffer track will play to his strengths. The home contingent look best served by Mooneista and Gustavus Weston, 1-2 in a Group 2 here in July.
