Of the 28 runners, exactly half are course winners including BLAIRMAYNE, who was beaten half-a-length in this last year. He’s 4lb higher thanks to a convincing victory at Naas but should make a bold bid to go one better. Verhoyen wasn’t too far away in fifth a year ago but Gulliver was well beaten. The latter, runner-up in the Stewards’ Cup at Goodwood, can show last year’s running to be all wrong. Power Under Me makes his handicap debut after placed efforts in three Group contests, the last two on this track. He has plenty of weight but looks a classy sprinter and should get into contention. Hightimeyouwon has Ryan Moore on board and Dermot Weld’s charge has been in fine form, mainly over slightly further. He was ridden by a 3lb claimer when successful last time and a 4lb rise makes him effectively 7lb higher. Lustown Baba would have a chance second to none if the ground eases as she completed a double here on soft ground last October, including a Listed contest.
