In depth

Verdict

Mid Winster won a course and distance maiden in August before a fair run in Listed company on a return visit. She needed her comeback and can go well but ALEEF (NAP) had winning form for David O'Meara and signalled an imminent victory when runner-up in a big field at Naas. He duly obliged at Navan and, though 4lb higher, looks the one to beat. Hathiq has had very little racing but had no problems seeing off Mokhalad at Tipperary. That was on soft ground but he's won on Polytrack so looks a real threat. Verhoyen was fourth here on Friday and this is a more suitable trip.
