Chess Grand Master is the only one of these to have won over the trip on the Flat but has been looking a bit high since completing a Dundalk double in February. Persian Lion has won over 1m7f on fast ground and ran very well at Killarney after a long break but VENEZIA beat a big field at Navan last month before just failing to catch Shakespear'sgalley over 2m1f at Killarney. The pair are closely matched at the weights but Edward O'Grady's charge just gets the vote. Bongiorno has never raced over this trip and though staying on strongly behind the odds-on True Self at Gowran could do with some rain to ease the ground.
