Verdict

Aidan O'Brien has won eight of the last nine and is represented by half of the eight-strong line-up. Shock Oaks winner Qualify bids to become the first filly since Balanchine in 1994 to complete the double and there's every reason to believe she can get into the argument after showing that stamina is her game at Epsom. She could get a tow through the race from any one of her three stable companions as both Giovanni Canaletto and Kilimanjaro stayed on well enough in the Derby to suggest either could make the running and French Derby runner-up Highland Reel has the X-Factor of Ryan Moore in the saddle. Storm The Stars ran a superb race in third at Epsom but it's very difficult to see why any of those who finished behind JACK HOBBS should turn the tables. John Gosden's charge - runner-up to Golden Horn in the Dante - had no answer when that winner swept past in the big one but that was only his fourth career start and, with more progress likely, he looks the obvious choice to go one better. The unbeaten Radanpour will need to make massive strides from his Listed victory at Leopardstown but his trainer doesn't tilt at windmills.
