Verdict
Only one favourite has won this in 13 years. Silwana had shown real promise last season and started favourite for her reappearance over the course and distance but ran a shocker. She's much better than that but AWESOME STAR was beaten just a head in that event and has since gone on to carry a big weight to victory in an amateurs' event and looks the one to be on. Daneking had been in decent form over jumps before finding Sang Tiger too good at Leopardstown and the latter looks to have a real chance of following up from 5lb higher while Benkei was impressive over 1m5f at Navan and has no problems staying the longer trip.
