ALBIGNA looked an outstanding three-year-old prospect when landing the Marcel Boussac in testing conditions at Longchamp before a fine effort at the Breeders' Cup meeting. She started a short-priced favourite for the 1000 Guineas here in June but the fast ground proved against her and she's expected to bounce back for an autumn campaign. She'll need to be back to her best as she faces several in-form rivals, not the least So Wonderful, who took 14 runs to get off the mark then completed a double in a Listed contest at Killarney. Her stable companion Lovelier won a similar contest at the same venue before narrowly beaten in a Group 2 over 1m1f here last month while Thundering Nights is improving though will need to step up from her Leopardstown victory.
